Pipeline Design
Consultancy and verification of the design of pipeline systems can be provided. Topics addressed include basic pipe sizing, pressure rating, pressure drop and materials, routing, laying strategy, on bottom stability and burial requirements, coating and cathodic protection, manifold and riser configurations.
Installation
Grassfield is able to act as consultants or warranty surveyors to provide services associated with the pipeline installation including marine spread and equipment evaluation; appraisal of pipeline handing/laying procedures; evaluation of logistic marine procedures; stress analysis/ buckling studies; trenching and burying. In addition, all welding, non-destructive testing, field joint coating, hydrostatic testing and pigging specifications and procedures can be reviewed.
Review and evaluation of procedures and equipment for items such as umbilical, risers, tie-ins, midwater arch and manifolds are regularly carried out.
The installation of offshore pipeline and related subsea structures is a specialised field in which Grassfield has gained extensive practical experience which is supported by an extensive range of analytical and engineering expertise.
Grassfield engineers and surveyors have attended and approved the laying of pipelines by conventional lay barge, shore crossings and trenching and burial by jetting and ploughing and shore crossings. Complementary experience has included the installation of rigid and flexible riser systems and subsea structures such as templates, wellhead protection, pipeline end manifolds, Midwater Arch and sub-sea isolation valve structures.
